As the great Peter Drucker said

There are two functions to a business, marketing and innovation.

So, demand is discovered & supply is invented.

It has not occurred to me till Bob Moesta pointed it out from his personal experiences in one of his podcasts: Supply and demand are correlated but neither supply causes demand, nor demand causes supply. It's the struggling moments and pains that cause demand, but the supply end of the market could be broken till someone fixes it.
